Bio

Linda Weiland is a freelance writer who enjoys the history and beauty of the Wild West.  She lives in Bisbee, Arizona with her husband Jim.

On fine mornings they love to head out for out-of-the- way destinations including ghost towns, small towns and scenic natural areas, or walk their dogs in the beautiful desert that surrounds their home.

Some of Linda’s interests include  the geography, history, native plants, and geology of scenic places.  She also enjoys   gardening, historic preservation, maps and, of course, researching, photographing and writing about the places she visits.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from San Francisco State University, a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from San Jose State University, and over 20 years working for local government, Linda is looking forward to retirement so she and Jim can get out more often to visit  America’s Scenic Detours.
